NEW INFORMATION

Terry Fox Run: On Friday afternoon, our students will take part in our annual Terry Fox Run. This event is an opportunity to honour Terry Fox, a Canadian hero whose courage, determination, and hope continue to inspire people across the country. As we come together to celebrate his legacy, students are invited to support cancer research by bringing a toonie for Terry or making a donation through School Cash Online. Thank you for helping us keep Terry's dream alive and making a difference in the lives of others.

Music Programs: As we start our first full week, our music programs will be up and running. We encourage students to find a way to connect with our many different options. Below is the schedule, but if you have any questions, please contact Ms Hunt ([email protected]).

E-Scooters: The Abbotsford Police Department is reminding families that electric kick scooters (e-scooters) are not permitted on public roads, sidewalks, pathways, or parks anywhere in Abbotsford. Their use is only allowed on private property because Abbotsford is not part of B.C.’s Electric Kick Scooter Pilot Project. Riding an e-scooter in a public space may result in a $109 fine. In support of this, students will not be permitted to have e-scooters on school property.

INFORMATION FROM LAST WEEK
School Start Up Information: A reminder that all the information regarding school start up was sent out to parents last week. You can CLICK HERE to access the newsletter from last week.

Class Placement Changes: Staff put a great deal of thought and care into creating class placements. Many factors are considered to support the academic, social, and emotional needs of all students. As students settle into their new classes, we ask families to allow time for teachers and students to build relationships and establish routines.

To support this process, we do not accept parent or student requests for class changes during the first six weeks of school. Any adjustments that occur during this time are made only when required to meet district or provincial guidelines or to address significant educational needs.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we begin the school year. If you have questions or concerns, please feel free to contact the school administration team.

School Vaccination Information and Digital Consent Form: As we begin the school year, Fraser Valley Health Authority will be scheduling vaccinations for eligible students with the permission of their caregivers. You can CLICK HERE for the information and digital consent form.

You Are The PAC: A reminder to all our families that having a student at Colleen and Gordie Howe Middle School means you are already part of our PAC! We will be sharing the schedule for meetings shortly so please be on the lookout and make plans to attend.
